Yellow Star Films is a movie production company with a huge set of matzah balls. In a sea of misinformation and lies, we don't take any prisoners when it comes to telling the truth.
Yellow Star Films' name isn't incidental. It's a badge of courage and an act of defiance. We're not hiding, and we're not shivering in fear — we're standing tall, in full view, on purpose. As Menachem Begin put it: "I am not a Jew with trembling knees." Neither are we. The Nazis forced Jews to wear a yellow star as a mark of shame — we took that same symbol and put it over our own front door instead, on purpose, as a name we're proud of. Nobody hands us our shame anymore. Not as a people. Not as individuals.
The kid gloves are off, and the brass knuckles are on — except our brass knuckles are a lens. This is a street fight, and antisemitism doesn't fight fair, but instead of meeting it fist for fist, we aim our knuckles (lens) at how we actually live: how we dance, how we celebrate, how we love, how we build lives worth showing. In a world where "my truth" has replaced the actual thing, we're not interested in arguing about it — that's a fight with no winner, only noise. The only way to fight a lie is with the truth, shown, not argued, with integrity and beauty in every frame. That's our soul. That's our backbone.
Centuries of Jewish history and stories, most of them never told on screen at all, and a modern Israel that looks nothing like the single flattened image most of the world carries around. Israel is Druze villages and Bedouin tents and Ethiopian synagogues and Muslim-Israeli towns and Tel Aviv rooftops and Yemenite kitchens and Haredi study halls — all of it genuinely part of the same fabric, all of it genuinely proud to call itself Israeli. That's the actual subject. Everything else follows from it.
This moment in history matters more than most. The real battleground now is our children's minds — their thoughts, their emotions — shaped every day by messages they were never taught how to question. Nobody armed them for that. That's where Yellow Star Films comes in.
Antisemitism is rising faster than at almost any point in living memory, and right now, the loudest voices explaining what it means to be Jewish or Israeli aren't the people actually living it — they're TikTok clips and social media pile-ons, shaping an entire generation's opinion of an ancient people most of them have never actually met. We don't yell. We don't scream. We just point the lens and let it speak. That's why Yellow Star Films exists now, not eventually.
Yellow Star Films doesn't set out to make message movies. We set out to make movies people actually want to watch, and trust the story to do the rest. People leave having understood something they didn't walk in with — and they'll tell you it's because they loved the film, not because anyone lectured them into it.
And it isn't only about what an outside audience walks away understanding. More importantly, it's about what a Jewish audience feels walking out of the theater — Empowered — and how they carry themselves afterward, in the next room they walk into, the next time someone tests them.
If you've felt any of that — the anger, the frustration, the exhaustion, even the quieter feeling of isolation — we're not asking you to argue it away, and we're not adding to the noise either. We're offering somewhere for that negative energy to go — the same fire, redirected into pride and purpose instead of rage, into something that builds instead of burns.
